Teen Window = T Shirt Sleeve + Bamboo Stalk

I wanted to share this super simple low budget no-sew teen window treatment. This is a fun look that most teens are happy to do themselves. Take 1 bamboo stalk and several t shirts with sleeves. Cut bamboo stalk to extend across the window opening. Figure exact measurment plus an additional 4" (2" to overhang at each end). Hang the bamboo stalk using screw eyes from the hardware store screwed into the wood molding or the inner 2x4 framing the window. Make sure the hardware is large enough to allow the bamboo to pass through. (You can also opt to hang the bamboo stalk inside the window opening by screwing large cup hooks from the inside top portion.)

Simply run the bamboo stalk through the t shirt sleeve of each shirt and hang. Slip a thick natural colored rubberband over each end of the bamboo stalk immediately AFTER the bamboo has passed through the eye hook. This will ensure the bamboo stalk stays in place when t shirts are moved to adjust lighting and/or privacy. Note: you may need two tiers or if you prefer, do a teen window with the t shirts used as a valance and a solid treatment at the bottom or vice versa. The point is to keep this teen window design as fun and simple as possible. T shirts can be changed out periodically as desired.
If a different look is desired, hang the bamboo stalk inside the window opening by screwing large cup hooks from the inside top portion.
